Here are some close ups of the horns and spikes.
I then begun modelling the Howdah. After careful consideration on wether
to model it as a separate thing and put it on the dinosaur or to model it
directly on the dino, I choose to build it directly on the dinosaur.
This would be harder to paint, but easier to build (because of the ropes)
and also I would not risk to make it too big or too small relatively to
the carrier.
First I took bamboo spikes normally used in gardening, cut them in small
lengths and shaped the ends using a pencil sharpener.
Then I glued the spikes and ropes using superglue on the dino. The howdah
floor was glued on the two main spikes.
The howdah barriers were cut in Magic the Gathering cards, I just had a
couple at hand :))).
The bow support and bow were modelled out of Milliput®.
I modelled the standard and quiver at the same time as the bow. You see
them here next to a ruler (graduated in centimeter, not inches :).
The giant arrows were made from toothpicks and some needle throng.
They were then assembled and glued to the dinosaur.
After this, the whole thing received a spray of white as undercoat.
It turned out that the spray paint made the throng I used look very rough,
much like vegetal rope.
once again, not something I specifically intended, but it turned out to
look very nice :)
Okay, here we are almost done, head up to page 3.
