​Sep 2018 - Current : European Commission DG COMM, Business Analyst, Drupal project

DG COMM manages the web publishing tools for the European Commission and executive agencies. The Europa Web Publishing Project (EWPP) is a Drupal-based platform offered as a software as a service solution for web publishing to DGs and executive agencies.
The project consists in designing and setting up the platform, then migrating 160 sites currently using Drupal 7 before it reaches end of life, as well as accommodating new sites.
This is a large project, with a team of Business analysts working in an agile process.

Direct responsibilities include performing analysis the AS-IS platform, participating in the solution design with the other BAs and product owner, establishing a list of requirements for the TO-BE platform, follow-up of these requirements with the development team, design and follow-up of tests for business acceptance and user acceptance, iterating analysis and requirements to follow testing findings, technical writing and documentation including a user manual for the platform, creation of training material, and training end-users that will use the platform.

​Aug 2007 - Current : Flatlined Games, Founder/Owner

This is my own company. I publish board games and sell them worldwide through distribution partners. (Cardboard and paper physical games, not video games) : http://www.flatlinedgames.com/

I manage this essentially during the evenings and weekends since 2009, making it compatible with my other consulting activity.

• Drupal website (started with Drupal 6, migrated over time to D7 and D8) customized to suit my needs

• Prestashop shopping cart (I used Ubercart in the past and moved on to Prestashop after the D8 migration.)

​Mar 2017- Mar 2018 : Fédération Royale Belge Des Sports Equestres (FRBSE-KBRSF)

The federation is a national-level organization overseeing all aspects of horse sports in Belgium, and internationally. They provide and manage the tools for both regional leagues, VLP and LEWB. These web applications are used by 80.000 athletes and horse owners.

• Freelance consultant : Hired to put back on track a software refactoring project that was facing major difficulties.

- Various roles as was needed - Business analyst, Change management, Infrastructure audit, Consultant, Project Management.

- Business analysis - audit of the existing apps, definition of the new target. (involves ecommerce, VAT, event booking, sports scorings, results, handicaps, liaison with the international federation, …)

- This was an in-house PHP development based on Symphony framework. We used Agile (Kanban).

- Refactoring of the wole IT infrastructure (servers virtualization, migration, setup of a proper dev/staging/prod process, implementation of devops culture and procedures)

- refactoring of the legacy application to support VAT as the federation moved to a VAT-compliant organization


​May- Dec 2016 : Plateforme Francophone du Volontariat (PFV)

PFV is a federation of Belgian non profits that use volunteers. The goal of PFV is to promote volunteer work and make sure all the legal and administrative information about volunteering is easily available to everyone interested. Members include red cross, FAPEO parents organisation, scouts, caritas catholicas, …


• Freelance consultant : members management platform and website migration from filemaker pro to a new Drupal-based website and CRM: http://www.levolontariat.be


- Business analysis : audit of the existing apps and infrastructure, assessment of the current and future needs, definition of the target infrastructre and applications

- Creation of a new Drupal 7 Website from scratch, implementation of a classified ads geolocalized section, a private section with shared files and documents for members, and an internal use intranet and CRM (using Redhen CRM on Drupal)

​Nov - Dec 2014 : Interface3 - Teacher, Linux system administration

Interface3 is a non profit that teaches technical topics (Systems and network administration, programming, html/css, …) to young women. Their goal is to strengthen female presence and representation in technical fields in the enterprise, which I totally support.


• Linux System administration formal training: Basics of Linux and unix systems, use of the shell, setup and configuration, systems administration.

​Dec 2009 - April 2013 : SMART asbl/vzw - Business Analyst

SMart asbl/vzw is a leading supplier of human resources management services and social administration services which focuses on artistic and intermittent work. Smart recently became the largest cultural European cooperative.


• Business Analysis : I was the link between board of directors and IT

• Business analysis of the various internal processes and customer-facing services

• Implementation of a Drupal 6 intranet from scratch, which quickly became the main in-house communication tool.

• Implementation of various internal applications of the Drupal intranet : assets databases, shared living books, internal employee database with contact info and responsibilities, reporting tools, document sharing spaces, …

• Implementation of CiviCRM, training of the staff to use it, and change management to move toxards a CRM-based workflow internally

​Oct 2008 - November 2009 : Freelance consultant, self employed

• Very short term missions (a few days or weeks here and there) for various clients : Event management (mostly meetings and conferences), IT consulting (mostly technical : systems and networks, audit). The bank crisis has made the market very hard for project managers, but this thankfully was a transient state.

​May 2008 - Oct 2008 : EMAKINA S.A. Project manager: D'ieteren clients portfolio

Emakina is a full service digital agency based in Brussels, Belgium. They do websites, advertising campaigns, digital communication, e-marketing, and much more.


• Project management for all D'Ieteren projects. D'ieteren was actually a portfolio of clients, comprising Seat, Skoda, Audi, Porsche, VW, Yamaha, and MyWay.

• Interim position while the previous PM was taking a 5 month burn-out leave.

• That client's portfolio was eventually reorganised on my recommendations to spread the load on three different PM's (two senior and one junior) to handle the tremendous workload.

• Next project (banking) got cancelled because of the 2008 financial crisis.

• First exposure to Drupal 6, which looked interesting enough to make me want to study it deeper.

​August 2007 - May 2008 : Self employed, personal projects

​Nov 2006 - july 2007 : OLAF (European Commission anti-fraud office) - via Unisys

OLAF is the anti-fraud office of the European commission, based in Brussels. Their duties range from tax evasion investigation, to VAT fraud, to internal affairs investigations at the EU commission, to the protection of EURO money against counterfeiters.

Unisys is a well-known multinational consulting and services company.

​October 2001 - July 2006 : Sodexo - Project Manager

Sodexo is a worldwide leader in catering and services as well as vouchers and e-vouchers. The Brussels Headquarters had over 600 employees, plus about 6000 workers in kitchens and client premises all over the country.

PrimeUser.Com was a small start-up located in Brussels. They needed a in-house head of IT to set up a future-proof infrastructure for the company.

Publicis is a full service advertising and digital media company.

Brussels 2000 was a 1 year fixed-duration federal cultural project running trough the whole of 2000. Its objective was to be an incubator for about 350 non-profits managing 500 cultural projects.
